Beer giant Heineken tops latest most valuable Dutch brand ranking
Brewing group Heineken is the most valuable Dutch brand, according to a new ranking by market research group Kantar.
In total, the top 30 Dutch brands are worth a combined $72.7 billion and have grown in value by 10% since the last ranking in 2021. ‘Our research consistently shows that to be successful, brands need to navigate the present without giving up on the long-term efforts that build value,’ Kantar said.
Kantar values the Heineken brand at $13.7 billion, a rise of 18% on two years ago. By concentrating on its pricing structure, the brewing group has managed to establish itself as a premium product which also attracts price-conscious consumers, Kantar said.
Alcohol is the largest category in the ranking, representing 22% of total brand value, and featuring three other beer brands: Amstel, Hertog Jan and Grolsch.
Number 10 on the list is budget chain Action, worth $2.3 billion, and the fastest riser in the top 30 ranking, having boosted its brand value 75%. The retail group has expanded throughout Europe over the past two years. There are a total of 10 retailers in the ranking.
Four newcomers also make the top 30: fitness centre group Basic-Fit (17, $986 million), personal care and candle giant Rituals (18, $759 million), mail order firm Wehkamp (29, $248 million) and supermarket group Plus (30, $223 million).
