Unemployment falls slightly in February, fewer benefit claims
The official Dutch unemployment rate fell slightly to 3.5% in February, national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The number of jobless has fallen by an average of 3,000 a month for the past three months and is now around 356,000 the CBS said.
In total some 154,000 people are claiming unemployment benefits (WW). Claims have fallen by 34,000 over the past year with the biggest drop – 46% – made by people who work in the hospitality sector.
In total, almost 73% of Dutch adults have some form of paid job.
