Dutch women speed skaters won all five gold medals open to them at the world short track championships in Seoul, South Korea this weekend.

Golds (and a clean Dutch sweep) in the 500 metres and the 1,500 metres were followed by the 1,000 metres on Saturday and then the 3,000 metres relay and the mixed relay on Sunday.

Xandra Velzeboer, 21, takes home four gold medals, having won all but the 1,500 metres – which went to Suzanne Schulting. She leaves Seoul with three golds.

The men’s team had a more disappointing competition, with Jens van ‘t Wout taking home the only solo medal – bronze in the 500 metres.

Van ‘t Wout and Teun Boer were part of the winning mixed relay team together with Velzeboer and Schulting.
