Winter’s back: Next week will be chilly with sleet and snow
Sleet and snow will be back in the Netherlands next week as the temperatures drop again, weather forecasters say.
This weekend will be relatively mild for the time of year, with temperatures around 11 Celsius during the day, and there will be plenty of rain.
But by Tuesday, it will be colder and sleet and snow will hit most of the country for a couple of days, Buienrader meteorologist Magdel Erasmus said.
The KNMI weather bureau also forecasts sleet and snow from Monday evening and says night frosts are likely up to the end of the week. There may also be some sunny spells as the week progresses.
The KNMI is hedging its bets about the rest of January, saying there is a 40-50% chance of milder weather and a 50-60% of it turning much colder. It is, however, likely to be drier heading towards the end of the month.
