Police make arrest in drive-by shooting of Dutch soldier in Indianapolis
Police in Indianapolis have arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of involvement in the murder of a Dutch commando on Saturday.
The shooting happened in front of the hotel where three members of a Dutch special defence unit were staying. One died of his injuries. The other two soldiers are recuperating in hospital.
According to local media, the trio were on a break from an urban warfare training course at a facility in southeast Indiana when they became involved in a fight at a bar. Some time later they were shot from a passing car.
Shamar Duncan, 22, of Indianapolis, was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
Police are still reviewing witness statements and video footage taken at the scene but would not comment on an ongoing investigation.
