A second man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into the sexual abuse of minors at an Almere children’s charity.

The foundation, Kanjer Wens Nederland, organised days out for seriously ill children and its director Peter V, 54, was picked up last June on child abuse charges.

The new arrest, that of a 20-year-old man from Almere, is not directly linked to the charity, but he had worked for the organisation and was part of the director’s network, police said.

Peter V was arrested for the third time in February after he broke a bail requirement ordering him to stay away from children. He was first arrested last June on charges of sexually abusing two boys, while he was director of the charity.

The charity, which V founded five years ago, has since closed down.
