Feyenoord and PSV move into Conference League quarter finals
Two Dutch clubs are left in European competition after this week’s football action, with both Feyenoord and PSV moving into the quarter finals of the Conference League.
PSV won the second leg of their tie against FC Kopenhagen 0-4, while Feyenoord beat Partizan Belgrado 3-1 at home.
AZ of Alkmaar could do no more than a 2-2 draw in extra time against Norwegian club FK Bodo/Glimt, leaving them out of the competition. Vitesse drew 1-1 against AS Roma and that too was not enough to keep them in after the first leg.
On Tuesday, Ajax was knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16 after losing 0-1 to Benfica of Portugal.
Nevertheless, Dutch success in Europe this year will push the Netherlands up the key Uefa coefficient list by the end of the season, the AD reported. The coefficient list is used to rank individual clubs, and for seeding in European competition.
