Dutch Health Council urges more research into Long Covid

The Dutch Health Council is calling for additional research into the long term consequences that a Covid infection can have for some people.
It is also recommending a wider awareness of Long Covid among doctors to promote targeted treatment and monitored care of the patients, the council said in recommendations to health minister Ernst Kuipers.
The council bases it suggestions on the literature that has been published about the problem so far.
Long Covid (now called post Covid syndrome in Dutch because of a mistaken association with long or lung) can manifest itself in a number of complaints which may last months. These include tiredness, shortness of breath, headaches, brain fog, loss of smell and muscle pain.
