Anti-vaxxers harass health board staff, accuse them of murder
Politicians and local officials have condemned militant anti-vaxxers for bursting into a vaccination centre in the Limburg town of Heerlen and accusing staff of murder.
‘This is absolutely not on,’ mayor Roel Wever said. People have the right to demonstrate and the right to freedom of expression but not to attack people, he said. ‘This went too far on every count,’ he told local broadcaster 1Limburg.
Police were called to the centre after the group pushed their way in and refused to leave, shouting abuse at staff.
A video, filmed by the anti-vaxxers, shows one person yelling ‘you need to realise you are guilty of murder’ at centre staff. Another shouted that they were committing genocide.
When a health board worker tried to intervene and stop the filming, he was pushed away
Wever said a formal police complaint has been made about the incident.
