Next week will colder with wintry showers, but any snow won’t stay around

Wintry weather is on its way towards the end of next week, bringing light frosts at night, and snow showers may also be on the cards, weather forecasters say.

Weeronline says the beginning of next week will have plenty of sunny spells and the temperature will drop to around 7 Celsius. Towards the end of next week, the temperature will drop further and the chance of rain – and wintry showers – will increase.

Weather bureau KNMI too says there is a 60% chance of chilly weather towards the end of the month, and a 50% chance of frost at night.

However, those searching for snow may do better to look over the border.  Weerplaza also forecasts colder weather towards the end of next week, but says there will no proper snow cover in the Netherlands. However, the Ardennen, Eifel and Sauerland regions a short drive away, will have good cover, Weerplaza said.

The rest of this week and the weekend will be a mixed bag of showers, sunny spells and temperatures no higher than 12 or 13 Celsius.
