Coronavirus cases remain steady at average 2,500 per day


Coronavirus cases continued to stagnate as the public health agency RIVM recorded another 2,151 cases on Monday.
The average number of positive tests per day has been stuck at around the 2,500 mark for the last two weeks, increasing by 0.3% in the last seven days.
Hospital and intensive care patient numbers have levelled off at just below 700 and slightly more than 200 respectively. On Tuesday the RIVM reported 682 patients were being treated for coronavirus in hospital, 220 of whom are in intensive care.
However, the positive test rate has fallen in the last two weeks from around 14% to 10.9% on Monday.
In the last week the RIVM has reported an average of six deaths a day from Covid-19, the same number as a week ago.
