Daily coronavirus report hit by technology failings again

A total of 2,155 new coronavirus cases were registered with public health institute RIVM in the 24 hours to Wednesday morning but yet another IT failing means the figure is unlikely to be accurate.
This is the third time this week that the daily report has been compromised by computer problems. The RIVM did not give an explanation for the failing but did say the number of new infections is likely to be under-reported.
Nevertheless, the number of positive tests is still going down slowly, and the average over the past seven days is 2,481. That is a 14% decline, and far more moderate than the 44% recorded last week.
The number of patients in hospital and in IC wards is virtually unchanged at 656, national patient monitor LCPS said.
