Drug kingpin Tse Chi Lop can be extracted to Australia, judges in Rotterdam said on Friday.

The Chinese-born Canadian national was flying from Tawain to Canada when he picked up by Dutch authorities at Schiphol airport at the behest of the Australian authorities who want him to face drug trafficking charges.

‘The court sees no reason to adjourn the hearing of the extradition request, as requested by counsel, in order to conduct further investigation,’ the presiding judge at Rotterdam’s district court said.

Tse’s lawyer, Andre Seegbrets, told the court at an extradition hearing last month that his client was illegally deported from Tawain and intentionally placed on a flight with a stopover in the Netherlands because the Dutch have more favourable extradition terms with Australia.

The 58-year-old is said to be the head of The Company, which dominates a $70bn illegal drugs market across Asia. The Australian authorities say he’s responsible for 70% of drugs trafficked into the country.

Seegbrets said that his client plans to appeal.
