Company coronavirus support measures to end after third quarter

The cabinet has decided to wind down its support package for industry slightly faster than planned, because of the sharp drop in coronavirus cases.
Some changes are being made to the third quarter regulations and the entire programme will end on October 1 unless things take a turn for the worse, ministers have agreed.
Companies will also be expected to pay their taxes normally from October, but will have five years to pay back taxes relating to the period of the epidemic.
Both the central bank and the government’s macro-economic think-tank CPB have said that the support package should be wound down after the third quarter.
