Investigation experts sent to Aruba helicopter crash site
An expert team has been sent from Eindhoven to investigate the cause of the helicopter crash near Aruba which killed two Dutch military personnel.
The team includes experts from the defence department’s safety inspection unit, the Dutch Safety Board and military police.
Yesterday, the bodies of 34-year-old pilot Christine Martens and 33-year-old tactical coordinator Erwin Warnies were brought to Willemstad in Curaçao. Two other passengers survived the crash.
The NH-90 helicopter subsequently sank into the sea in rough waters and high wind, despite attempts to keep it afloat.
