Police concerned about ‘growing numbers’ of crystal meth labs
Dutch police are concerned about a growing number of crystal meth labs in the country, according to the Telegraaf.
Andy Kraag, head of the national criminal investigations division, reportedly told the paper that the local drug trade has been changing its substance of choice.
‘We are seeing evidence that Dutch drug dealers are working with Mexicans and are buying in experts to replace ecstasy labs with labs where crystal meth is produced,’ he reportedly said.
Police believe that the Netherlands is seen as an attractive new hub for Mexican drug cartels to reach the European market, with its excellent infrastructure and facilities, mild punishments and good smuggling routes, according to the Telegraaf.
