The Dutch banking association said on Friday its members have helped 143,000 companies and 28,000 customers with loans, credit and deferred payments since the start of the coronavirus crisis.

In total, the loans and deferments amount to €11bn in support, the NVB said in a statement. This is up €4bn on two weeks ago.

Some 129,000 companies have been granted deferments on loan repayments and banks have extended 14,000 new loans to the private sector.

In addition, 18,000 consumers have been given a mortgage holiday of up to three months and 10,000 have been given a three month moratorium on loan repayments, the NVB said.
