Military police arrest three at Schiphol after finding pistol in car
Three young men from Amsterdam were arrested outside Schiphol airport on Monday evening after military police officers found a gun in a bag in the car they were travelling in, the Marechaussee said on Wednesday.
The car was stopped at the departures section during a routine control. One of the passengers appeared to be nervous when the car was stopped and tried to leave the car, after throwing the bag onto the back seat, the police statement said.
The bag was searched and found to contain the pistol and an ammunition clip.
All three men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested. Police also searched a house in Amsterdam but found nothing. The investigation is continuing.
