The average price paid for a house or flat in the Netherlands has topped €300,000 for the first time, the national statistics office CBS said on Wednesday.
In 2019, the average price hit €308,000, compared with €287,000 in 2018 and €263,000 in 2017. ‘Prices have been going up steadily by some €20,000 a year,’ CBS economist Peter Hein van Mulligen said.
The highest average price for a new home – €832,000 – was paid in the leafy town of Bloemendaal, close to the Dutch coast. The cheapest properties, with an average price of €155,000, were bought in Delfzijl on the Groningen coast.
