Thunderstorms on Saturday but then summer is back for the week
The Netherlands is in for a lengthy period of warm weather, but rain is more likely as next week progresses, the KNMI weather bureau said on Friday.
Although rain and thunder are on the cards for Saturday, the rest of the weekend and next week will see temperatures rising to the low 30s with plenty of sunshine, the KNMI said.
And the hot, summery weather is set to continue into the last week of July, although the chance of rain will rise, the weather bureau said.
Saturday will have sunny spells with temperatures in the high 20s, but rain will move into the country in the afternoon. Thunderstorms, possibly severe, are likely in the south and east, the KNMI said.
Sunday will be cooler, at no more than 22 degrees, with some cloud but no rain and plenty of sunshine.
The temperature will rise steadily from Monday onwards as will the amount of sunshine, the KNMI said.
