Consumer confidence takes another hit but jobless total continues to fall
The Dutch consumer confidence index fell for the eighth month in row in March, dipping two points on February to -4.
In particular, consumers are more negative about the economic climate and are less willing to make major purchases, the national statistics agency CBS said on Thursday.
Nevertheless, the Dutch official unemployment rate continues to drop, hitting 3.4% in February – the lowest figure since 2001. The construction and healthcare sectors took on the greatest number of workers, the CBS said.
