At least 50 more Intertoys branches will close their doors
At least 52 more branches of toy chain Intertoys are to close permanently, on top of the 91 already earmarked for closure, the company confirmed to RTLZ on Thursday.
A further 10 are also on the closure list but may be taken over by franchises, the company said.
This means at least 153 of the 286 Intertoys branches in the Netherlands will shut down. The 103 stores currently operated by franchisees are not likely to be affected.
Last week it emerged that Portuguese investment group Green Swan had reached a deal to take over the bankrupt Dutch high street staple.
Intertoys went bust last month, three weeks after being given court protection from its creditors.
In January, Green Swan bought the Maxi Toys group from Blokker Holding and in August 2018, it acquired the Spanish and Portuguese operations of Toys “R” Us.
