Worker attacked, sexually assaulted at secure psychiatric unit
A female member of staff at a secure psychiatric clinic in Limburg was attacked and sexually assaulted by a patient on Sunday, the clinic has confirmed.
The incident happened in the activity centre run by the De Rooyse Wissel clinic in Oostrum. The woman was taken to hospital but nothing has yet been said about her condition.
The clinic itself said in a statement that staff have been ‘enormously shocked’ by the attack and that the police are now carrying out an investigation.
Two years ago there was a similar incident in the same part of the clinic, when a patient tried to strangle a member of staff. He was sentenced to five years in jail.
