Two security guards arrested for Rabobank safety deposit box heist
Two men who work for a security company have been arrested in connection with a break-in at the Rabobank branch in Oudenbosch in early March, according to local paper BN De Stem.
The two men work for the security company charged with guarding the bank and were arrested following raids on homes in Etten-Leur and Roosendaal, the paper said.
During the break-in, thieves stole the contents of some 300 safety deposit boxes. It is unclear what was stolen because many of the box owners have been reluctant to come forward. However, police say gold, cash and jewelry worth millions of euros may have been taken.
The police said early on in their investigation that they suspected it may have been an inside job because the security system had been manipulated.
