Police investigate homophobic attack on couple in centre of Amsterdam
Two men have been taken to hospital after what police are treating as a homophobic assault in the centre of Amsterdam.
The gay couple were beaten and kicked by a group of four men in Dam Square in the early hours of Sunday. Police are studying camera footage from the area as they gather evidence about the incident.
Police told AT5 that the two victims appeared to have been targeted for their sexuality. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the attackers.
