Three teenage girls, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested in the province of Zeeland for putting naked photographs of class mates and other secondary school students in the province on Instagram, broadcaster NOS writes.

The material included naked photographs and videos and photoshopped pictures of distorted bodies with the heads of fellow students. According to the police the data from the girls’ laptops and phones show some victims were picked at random while others were known to them

Six of the victims, aged between 15 and 18, registered a complaint with the police but it is thought the list of victims is longer.

The arrest comes just a week after a 15 year-old boy from Enschede jumped to his death because a naked picture of him appeared on Instagram, allegedly put there by a girl from his school.
