Dutch natural heritage organisation Natuurmonumenten and Google have joined forces to add 19 of the Netherlands’ most beautiful areas of countryside to the Street View collection.

Volunteers used a 20 kilo portable camera with 15 lenses to photograph the island of Schieermonnikoog, the Eerde country estate and Sint Pietersberg near Maastricht among others.

Each lens takes a photograph every two seconds, allowing a 360 degree image of the reserve to be built up. ‘It was quite a project but it has worked, thanks to our volunteers,’ Natuurmonumenten spokesman Jeffrey van Heck told the Telegraaf.
