Several schoolchildren witnessed a 42-year-old man being shot in the Osdorp neighbourhood of Amsterdam on Tuesday morning, reports the Parool.

The man, identified only as R.S, was shot in the arm by two other men on the Ivan Kantemanplein outside De Horizon school. He escaped to his home in the square and the shooters fled on a three-wheeled scooter that was later found burnt out and abandoned.

Police say that all children got safely into the building and most were already inside at 8.40, the time of the incident. The victim was not known to police.
