The families of people killed in the MH17 air crash two years ago are asking the European Union to help find out more information about the crash.

They’ve written to the EU’s foreign chief Federica Mogherini asking her to try to get missing radar and satellite images released by putting pressure on the relevant authorities.

The relatives claim Russia, Ukraine and the US have so far failed to come up with ‘all the relevant information’ about the disaster, which left nearly 300 people dead.

They say Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte has less room to act because of the criminal investigation into the crash which is currently under way in the Netherlands.

In total, 298 people died when the Malaysian Airlines plane was brought down by a missile over eastern Ukraine. 196 of the vistims were Dutch.
