teaching blid kid to read text in braille languageA vocational training college in Nijmegen was wrong to refuse to admit a blind woman to a social work course, the Dutch human rights institute said on Wednesday.

The college should have done all it can to help Juliana Fragoso achieve her aims, the institute is quoted as saying in the AD.

Fragoso, blind since she was 12 years old, was told in the third year of her course to become a social worker that she could not complete her studies because she could not ‘observe’.

The human rights institute said the ROC college was wrong to reject Fragoso because she is blind because it is illegal to discriminate against people with a handicap.
