Teachers need to brush up their IT skills, pupils say
Secondary schools pupils are, in the main, happy with their schools and teachers but over one in five says staff are not up to scratch when it comes to IT, according to a survey by school pupils’ union Laks.
Some 88,000 pupils completed the survey into school satisfaction, which is carried out every two years, the Telegraaf reports.
In total, 21% said they were not happy with their teacher’s IT skills. Complaints included not being able to work screen projectors properly or start up a YouTube film.
A further 27% thought their schools should use more IT in teaching, while 25% said the facilities which were on offer were not up to scratch.
