Man who sparked major Schiphol security scare is fined €500
A Polish man who sparked a security scare at Schiphol airport in April when he said he was a terrorist has been fined €500 by judges in Haarlem.
The incident happened shortly after the Brussels attacks, when airports were on high alert and led to part of Schiphol being closed.
The 25-year-old man, who was drunk at the time, has apologised for the disruption and attended the trial in Haarlem to make this clear again to the judges, news agency ANP said.
The public prosecution department had called for a sentence of 100 hours of community service.
