Compare vaccination prices, consumer body advises
Holidaymakers should compare the costs for vaccinations across different providers, says an investigation by the Consumentenbond.
The Dutch consumer watchdog compared prices across 70 doctors and vaccination services, and said prices for consultations as well as the vaccines themselves ‘varied considerably’.
Vaccinations are recommended for far-flung holiday destinations as well as places like Turkey, Morocco and Bulgaria. They can include hepatitis A and B, the combined diphtheria, tetanus and polio shot and rabies protection.
But the Consumentenbond found that providers charged between €18 to €55 for an appointment – while GGD health clinics and KLM Health Services asked most for the vaccines themselves.
