Ajax fail to take top spot after PSV are held at home, Ziyech drives Twente to victory, while Cambuur return to last place in the Eredivisie, writes Neil Adderley.

De Graafschap 3 v 0 Roda JC: Superboeren off the foot of the table

Goals from Youssef El Jebli, Robin Propper and Piotr Parzyszek gave De Graafschap a vital three points. El Jebli opened the scoring on 33 minutes, and the hosts doubled the lead with an early second half Propper header.

Roda missed a golden opportunity to half the deficit when Rydell Poepon hit a timid penalty straight at keeper Hidde Jurjus.

And De Graafschap rounded off a convincing and comfortable victory in injury time through Piotr Parzyszek.

FC Twente 2 v 1 PEC Zwolle: Ziyech leads Twente to comeback victory

Twente talisman Hakim Ziyech was once again the hero as a stunning strike and an assist gave the Tukkers a sixth straight home win.

However, the home side had to fight back from a one goal deficit after Kingsley Ehizibue had given PEC a deserved lead at the break.

And it was the impressive Ziyech, firing home a wonderful 47th minute curling shot, before setting up the winner for Jerson Cabral, who was once again the catalyst for Twente.

PSV 1 v 1 Heerenveen: Champions held in Eindhoven

A Luuk de Jong header rescued a point for PSV as the champions were held to a shock draw at the Philips Stadion.

Heerenveen had the best of a tight first half, with Sam Larsson and Mitchell Te Vrede being denied by keeper Jeroen Zoet.

And it was the same pairing that combined to give the visitors a deserved lead on 53 minutes.

Larsson’s accurate through ball was met by Te Vrede who made no mistake despite the best efforts of Zoet.

The shock lead didn’t last long as captain and top scorer De Jong stooped to head home a Narsingh cross.

But despite PSV dominating the final half an hour, Heerenveen held firm to claim an unexpected yet deserved point.

Willem II 0 v 2 AZ Alkmaar: Janssen and AZ march on

Vincent Janssen has been one of the finds of the season and the young striker delivered once again for in form AZ.

Willem II failed to deal with the Eredivisie joint top scorer throughout, and Janssen celebrated being called up for the provisional Dutch squad with a second half double.

Janssen broke the deadlock from the spot after Funso Ojo was adjudged to have handled in the box.

And the bustling forward claimed his 19th league goal of the season with a smart curling effort just minutes later.

Excelsior 2 v 1 Groningen: Excelsior pile the pressure on struggling Groningen

The Rotterdammers moved closer to safety with a home win against a poor FC Groningen. Club top scorer Tom van Weert gave Excelsior a 49th minute lead after being found by Rick Kruys.

And the hosts doubled the advantage five minutes later when Jeff Stans made no mistake from the penalty spot.

A double substitution from under fire Groningen boss Erwin van de Looi gave the visitors hope, as Oussama Idrissi hit the woodwork before Michael de Leeuw nodded home the rebound.

However, it was too little too late for Groningen who went down to a fifth straight defeat in what has so far been a shocking 2016.

Utrecht 2 v 2 ADO Den Haag: ADO fightback earns point in Utrecht

A Danny Bakker free kick and a Mike Havenaar header gave ADO an unlikely point against in form Utrecht.

The home side took the lead in spectacular fashion as striker Sebastian Haller controlled with the knee before unleashing an unstoppable overhead kick beyond Martin Hansen.

And when Ruud Boymans doubled the hosts lead, it seemed Utrecht would cruise to an easy victory.

However, Bakker hit back for the visitors with a fierce free kick, before big striker Havenaar nodded home a Edouard Duplan cross to claim a share of the spoils for ADO.

Heracles Almelo 3 v 1 Cambuur Leeuwarden: Defeat leaves Cambuur rock bottom

Heracles halted a four game losing streak and in turn left Cambuur rooted to the foot of the table in Almelo.

Despite Manchester City loanee Jack Byrne giving the visitors a 32nd minute lead, Cambuur failed to take advantage and were quickly pegged back in the second period by striker Wout Weghorst.

Robin Gosens gave the hosts a deserved lead on 77 minutes, before Ilias Bel Hassani wrapped up the points by crashing in from the edge of the area in injury time.

Vitesse Arnhem 0 v 2 Feyenoord: Kramer and Basacikoglu on the mark for Feyenoord

Vitesse failed to draw level on points with Feyenoord in the fight for third place as two second half goals handed the away side a much needed victory in Arnhem.

In a tense game short of quality, Michiel Kramer finally opened the scoring on 73 minutes. The striker tapping home a Rick Karsdorp near post cross.

The home side struggled throughout to test the Feyenoord defence, and it was left to Bilal Basacikoglu, finishing smartly after a fine solo run, to seal an away win to leave the Rotterdammers in third place in the table.

Ajax 2 v 2 NEC Nijmegen: Late Santos header denies Ajax top spot

Ajax failed to take advantage of PSV’s home draw as a late Christian Santos header kept Frank de Boer’s men off top spot in the Eredivisie.

Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik had given the hosts a 16th minute lead, chipping the ball over the onrushing Brad Jones. But not before NEC winger Anthony Limbombe was denied by Ajax stopper Jasper Cillessen.

And NEC quickly hit back through Navarone Foor whose low drive found the bottom corner of the Cillessen goal.

NEC striker Santos almost gave the visitors an early second half lead, but it was Ajax that regained the upper hand when the unfortunate Rens van Eijden put through his own goal.

Ajax pushed for a third goal but found NEC keeper Jones in excellent form.

And with just seven minutes left on the clock, Santos slammed home a diving header that would deny the Amsterdammers top spot going into next weekend’s crucial clash with PSV.
