A hotline for reporting online child pornography received over 25,000 tip-offs from both within the Netherlands and abroad last year, double the 2014 figure.

The Meldpunt Kinderporno, which is a private initiative, says the good Dutch internet infrastructure is one reason why there are so many reports of child porn on Dutch servers, news agency ANP says.

In total, the hotline’s researchers checked over 63,000 images, videos and websites following tip-offs from the public last year.
