Family fined after ski holiday pics give away holiday
Facebook photographs of a family enjoying themselves on a winter sports holiday resulted in a €400 fine for the parents, after they were spotted by school truancy officials, the Eindhovens Dagblad said on Friday.
The details are included in the school’s annual absenteeism register, which lists what has been done to make sure children don’t take time off when they should be in class.
Parents who take children out of school for a holiday are always reported to local officals and fined a maximum of €100 per child per day.
In total, four families from the town of Bergeijk were fined last year for unauthorised absences, the paper said.
