‘Monster of Amsterdam’ jailed for life
A man known as the ‘monster of Amsterdam’ has been jailed for life for poisoning two men in order to claim their life insurance.
H was found guilty of murdering 22-year-old Alan Perez and 24-year-old Alfredo Fernandez, Dominican men who lived in Amsterdam, shortly after arranging life insurance policies for them.
He was the sole beneficiary in both cases, telling the insurance company he was ‘like a brother’ to the men.
Muscle relaxant
The men were found to have been killed with a muscle relaxant normally only used in operations and which is hard to trace in the bloodstream. Samples were found at H’s home.
He gained the nickname ‘the monster of Amsterdam’ within the city’s Dominican community after the deaths came to light.
