Budget airlines increase Dutch market share to 35%
Some 35% of all flights booked from Dutch airports this year have been with budget airlines, the national statistics office CBS says.
Seven out of 10 budget airline passengers use Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport and London is their favourite destination, the CBS said.
In 2014, budget airlines took a 33% share of the Dutch air market. In total, the number of flights made via companies such as Transavia and Easyjet has doubled to 20 million over a 10 year period.
