Student arrested for Leiden University shooting threat
A 21-year-old student has been arrested for threatening to carry out a mass shooting at Leiden University, police confirmed on Wednesday.
The university was placed under police surveillance for several hours on Tuesday morning after the threat was made.
According to news agency ANP, the police received a warning that ‘there will be shots’ at one of the university’s faculties. It is not clear which department was involved.
The student may also be involved in a second threat against the university, made online on Tuesday, police said in a statement.
