Dutch unemployment rate sticks at 6.8%
The official Dutch unemployment rate remained 6.8% in the third quarter of this year, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
The number of jobless people actually rose from 603,000 in June to 607,000 in September, the CBS said. Compared with a year ago, some 13,000 people have found jobs. This is largely due to an increase in the number of working women.
The jobless rate among youngsters has risen from 11.1% to 11.5%. The total has been rising since April but is still below the third quarter of last year, the CBS said.
