Amsterdam football stadium to undergo €50m revamp
The Amsterdam Arena football stadium is to undergo a €50m revamp to modernise is facilities and improve access.
The work is due to be completed in 2020, when the stadium will host four matches for the European football championships. The Arena is the current home of Amsterdam football club Ajax.
The Arena, in Amsterdam’s Zuidoost district, was completed in 1995. The work involves giving the stadium a new facade, making it easier for supporters to enter and leave, and adding lifts, toilet facilities, escalators and catering.
