Man who filmed hockey club changing rooms faces three years in jail
A man who took secret films of hundreds of teenage hockey players should be jailed for three years, the public prosecution department said on Wednesday at an appeal hearing in The Hague.
Luigi C was jailed for 18 months, eight months suspended, at the original trial in March, but the department said immediately it would appeal against that sentence.
The department had then called for a four-year jail term for C, who hid a camera in the hockey club dressing rooms to film the girls. He also had a large collection of child pornography.
However, the judges sentenced him to just 10 months actual jail time because they disagreed that the videos should be classed as child pornography.
The offences took place at the HGC hockey club in Wassenaar and at the HDM club in The Hague. In total, he made at least 116 videos at the clubs.
In total, girls from 36 different clubs were recorded and 100 hours of material were found. Most of the girls were over the age of 16 but some were as young as 12.
