Three Dutch djs in Forbes’ electronic cash kings list

640px-TiestoDutch dj Tiësto is third in Forbes‘ list of the top 10 electronic ‘cash kings’ in the world with estimated earnings of $36m over the past year.

‘Although he’s one of the older DJs on the circuit, Tiësto still out-earns twenty-something whippersnappers from Avicii to Zedd, thanks to sky-high nightly fees and a work ethic to match,’ Forbes points out.

Tiësto, who is 40, played over 100 dates around the world during the scoring period and boosts his earnings with endorsements for the likes of Guess and 7UP. Breda-born Tiësto was also third in last year’s ranking.

Scotsman Calvin Harris tops the list with estimated earnings of $66m and is followed by France’s David Guetta with earnings of $37m. Steve Aoki and Skrillex tie for fourth place.

In joint eighth place, 19-year-old Dutch teenager Martin Garrix is the youngest in the top 10 with estimated earnings of $17m. Rotterdam’s Afrojack is 10th with $16m.
