Retail sales show biggest monthly rise since 2008
Dutch retailers booked a 4.7% rise in turnover in June, the biggest monthly increase since July 2008, the central statistics office said on Thursday.
Over the quarter as a whole, turnover rose 1.5% and sales grew 2.4%, the CBS said.
In particular, non-food shops, such as consumer electronics retailers, clothes shops, diy suppliers and high-street chemists performed well, the CBS said.
At the same time, online retailers saw their turnover grow by 28% in June, the CBS said. In May the figure was 12.2%.
