Police in Waalwijk are investigating the murder of a 28-year-old nurse outside the hospital where she worked around 17.00 on Monday afternoon.

The woman was shot dead as she got into her car and was about to go home. Police said there was no immediate motive for the killing and the woman was not necessarily known to the killer.

She had worked in the plastic surgery department at the TweeSteden hospital for five years and had just returned to work following her summer holiday.

Waalwijk is a small town between Dordrecht and Tilburg.
