Income and jobs increase in tourism sector
The amount of money brought in to the Netherlands by tourism rose 4% to €68.3bn in 2014, the central statistics agency CBS said on Monday.
The number of jobs in the tourism industry also rose, by 15,000 to a total of 606,000. Calculated on full-time jobs, the rise is around 2%.
Nearly half the jobs in the tourism sector are in hotels, cafes and restaurants where the number of jobs rose 3% last year.
