First Dutch donor egg baby born
The first woman in the Netherlands to undergo egg donation locally has given birth to a healthy daughter, the Leiderdorp fertility clinic MCK said on Monday.
The clinic started allocating eggs last year and was the first in the country to offer the service to infertile women. A number of other women are also pregnant, the clinic said, but did not give further details.
The Amsterdam and Utrecht teaching hospitals are also now offering egg donation services. Previously, Dutch women who wanted a donor egg had to go abroad for treatment.
According to news agency ANP, the treatment at the MCK costs €2,400 for four eggs.
