The Netherlands is eighth on trade surplus list
The Netherlands is seventh on the list of countries with a trade surplus, the latest figures from the central statistics agency CBS show.
The country had a trade surplus of €77.3bn in 2014, the CBS says.
Top of the list are China and Germany with €383bn and €294bn respectively.
Within the EU, the Netherlands is in second place behind Germany.
A trade surplus is an indication of the competitive power of a country, but if it is too large or continues for too long it can lead to macro-economic instability.
