Temperature set to soar, followed by thunderstorms
Friday is set to be the warmest day of the year so far, with temperatures ranging from 27 degrees in the north to a tropical 33 in the far south east.
Tens of thousands of people are expected to flock to the beaches and the ANWB says heavy traffic on the roads is likely. The sea temperature, however, is a chilly 15 degrees, the Telegraaf reports.
The tropical heat will come at a price and rain and thunderstorms will move into the south in the afternoon. The KNMI weather bureau has issued a code yellow warning for the entire country because of the storms, which will include strong winds and hail.
By Saturday most of the rain will have cleared and it will be mainly dry with sunny spells. The temperature will range from 17 to 23 degrees. Sunday will have more sun and it will be slightly warmer.
The weather will remain similar for the rest of the week, the KNMI says.
