Ryanair gets Schiphol airport landing rights from this winter
Budget airline Ryanair has been given landing slots for nine flights a day at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport from the winter season, the Telegraaf reports.
The Irish airline said last year it wants to move into more established airports in an effort to attract more business travellers. Easyjet already has a major operation at Schiphol.
The airline has until August 31 to decide if it actually plans to use the slots.
According to the Telegraaf, Schiphol had hoped to attract Ryanair to Lelystad airport, where there are major expansion plans. Ryanair currently flies from Eindhoven, Maastricht and Groningen.
